Food makes such a difference to the residents' lives, which is why Totara Gardens Care Home and Merrivale Care Home, located in Whangarei, is searching for a Cook / Chef to join the Kitchen team.

We have a variety of opportunities, which includes :

Casual Cook role - no guaranteed hours.

We also have a fixed term contract Cook role, working full time hours, lasting until 30 Jan

There are opportunities to work as a Kitchen Manager on a Fixed-term basis as well, for those who have experience leading kitchen teams.

Hours & Roster Details for both Totara Gardens & Merivale Care Homes :

Position : Kitchen Manager

Employment Type : Fixed-term contract until 30 January

The other fixed term contract is until 2 October

Hours : Average 34 hours per week

Shift Time : 8.00am - 5.00pm

Roster Pattern : 3 on 2 off, 5 on 4 off (2 weekly roster across Monday - Sunday)

Days of work : Week 1 : Monday - Wednesday, Saturday & Sunday.

Week 2 : Monday - Wednesday

You will be working alongside equally passionate and creative colleagues to plan, implement and ensure that our residents' individual food and nutritional needs are met through delicious menu programmes.

Where You Will Make an Impact

Menu planning and implementation.

Ordering and monitoring supplies.

What About You

A relevant NZQA culinary qualification or equivalent is preferred and a minimum of 1 year of experience is essential.

Be prepared to roll up your sleeve and get stuck into whatever needs to get done.

Demonstrate enthusiasm, care, and passion for making a difference in our residents' lives.

Ensure resident confidentiality.

Reliable transport or travel arrangements.

Applicants must be legally entitled to work in NZ.
