Who are we?
ActionStation started in 2014 as a crowd‑sourced, independent, community campaigning organisation. We have led, collaborated and supported countless campaigns pushing for Te Tiriti justice, economic justice, social justice, racial justice and more.
If you would like to know more about what we stand for, check out our crowd‑sourced vision : Te Ira Tāngata : A People’s Agenda for Aotearoa and our 2022 annual report to discover what we have achieved so far.
We welcome and value the contributions that individuals who identify as members of marginalised communities bring to our organisation, and encourage Māori, young people, women, people of colour, parents, people identifying as LGBTQIA+ or takatāpui, and people with disabilities to apply. We recognise that this list is neither exhaustive nor representative of the intersectionality present within each person and community.
Why us?
Here at ActionStation, our day to day work is about enabling people‑powered progressive change. A lot of our funding comes from small donations, so we know that we can’t compete with bigger organisations or private companies when it comes to salaries. Here’s what we can offer instead :
