Cruise Customer Service Assistant

Cruise season is returning to Napier Port, and we're offering you the chance to join our cruise operations team.

About you

You're a people person with strong communication skills

You enjoy working in a team and can relate well to a wide range of people

You're safety-conscious and reliable

You're flexible with changing cruise schedules and rosters, and enjoy working outdoors

You hold a full NZ driver's licence

About the role

As part of our customer service team, you'll play a vital role in ensuring smooth passenger movements between the cruise vessels and the port's main gate - helping to deliver a positive experience for all visitors.

Employment is offered on a casual, as-needed basis.

Key responsibilities include :

Checking ID credentials for passengers, crew, and port users accessing the cruise terminal

Monitoring entry and exit points on the wharf to manage traffic flow and prevent unauthorised access

Assisting with access control, traffic and crowd management, and supporting agreed traffic management plans

Contributing to and promoting a strong safety culture
