Mo te turanga mahi | About the role We are looking for two experienced Senior Policy Advisors and one Policy Advisor to join the RM Policy and Standard Plan Content team.
The RM Policy and Standard Plan Content team are responsible for policy to deliver on the government's objectives to deliver increased standardisation, including standard land use zones under the proposed Planning Act and Natural Environment Act as part of the new planning and natural environmental management system.
This includes : Leading the development of policy advice to the Ministers and senior leaders.
Policy work to develop national direction for implementation of the new system.
This will include supporting the development of standard plan content under the proposed Planning Act.
Internal and external stakeholder engagement as part of developing and testing policy.
Our work involves close working with other government agencies and local government.
Project management to support the work.

Nga pukenga me nga wheako | Skills and experience - general critical thinking and policy development skills, including experience in policy analysis and writing briefings to Ministers / Senior Officials strong understanding of land use planning and regulation, either under the RMA or in other jurisdictions solid understanding of machinery of government excellent written and oral communication skills ability to liaise across work programmes and with a range of different stakeholders capable of working autonomously while also collaborating effectively good attention to detail knowledge compliance and enforcement operations and system design would be beneficial.
In addtion, for the senior roles : skilled in mentoring and coaching junior team members the ability to lead multiple, often complex projects, including procurement and budget management can recognise links and contribute to the wider strategic direction of the Ministry.
Whanuitanga Utu a-Tau | Salary range Advisor - $80,712 to $97,721 pa Senior - $110,501 to $134,128 pa Appointment within the range will be based on skills and experience.
