Christchurch Outpatients Building, Christchurch Health Campus
1.0FTE (40 hours a week) Fixed Term until January
due to Parental Leave
Shifts rostered between the hours of 7 : 30am to 5 : 30pm, Monday to Friday.Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is firmly grounded in theprinciples of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is dedicated to serving all NewZealanders.
About the Role
We have a great opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join the team inthe Eye Outpatients.Healthcare Assistants are instrumental in providing care topatients and supporting the clinical team.

As a Healthcare Assistant you willassist nursing staff with patient cares whilst maintaining a safe and cleanwork environment on the ward.You will be involved in :

Vision assessments

Assisting with minor procedures

Technical scans and photos

General hospital aide / ophthalmic dutiesThis is a great role for those who are interested in eyes orhave worked in an eye field.

About the Service

The Eye Clinic is a very busy and demanding service that isstaffed by a dedicated team of Healthcare Assistants, Nurses, Orthoptists,Optometrists and Technicians who work closely with our highly skilled andspecialised Ophthalmologists to meet the eye health needs of the people ofCanterbury.

About you

We are seeking a Healthcare Assistant with a passion andcommitment to the delivery of high standard of care for the patients.Enthusiastic and motivated, you will have excellent communication andinterpersonal skills and enjoy working in a fast paced, forward thinking,supportive environment.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to engage well

Effective problem solving and decision-making skills

Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a multidisciplinary team

Initiative and a proactive approach to work

Excellent interpersonal skills and teamwork

Strong computer skills and administration experience would be an advantage

Ideally experience as a Healthcare Assistant or similar role
