We have an exciting opportunity for a companion animal veterinarian to join our team.

MVS Small Animals is proud to be a local, family-owned business in the bustling town of Matamata.

The MVS small animal team :

You will be joining three other companion animal veterinarians, and six fully qualified NZVNA-accredited veterinary nurses who make up a friendly supportive team.

Our practice has a positive culture of quality service to the client, dedicated patient care, and teamwork.

The small animal clinic is modern and well equipped with excellent surgical facilities, including an in-house IDEXX laboratory, digital x-ray, MyLAB ultrasound machine, an IM3 dental cart, and dental x-ray.

About the role :

We require a veterinarian with an amazing attitude and excellent interpersonal skills, who is committed to providing a high standard of care.

Veterinarians are supported by experienced veterinary nurses to enable maximu efficiencies of veterinarians.

There is no emergency after-hours component to this role.

We require a veterinarian for 2-3days per week with a 1 : 4 Saturday morning clinic shift, from February 2026.
