This is a permanent, part-time position of 40 hours fortnightly.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care.
Training will be provided for the right applicant, making this a great opportunity for someone looking to start or grow their career in healthcare within a supportive and professional team.Our Patient Services Department is responsible for the collection of blood samples and handling contained specimens, i.e. human blood, faeces, urine, tissue etc from patients within the community and the hospital.
These samples are then processed and tested in our state-of-the-art medical laboratory.About youTo be successful in this role you need to have : The ability to work in a methodical manner adhering to strict quality procedure guidelines.Customer focus and commitment to providing a high quality of service to internal and external customers with effective interpersonal skills.A sound knowledge of medical terminology, laboratory operations including safety, operation of equipment and hands-on practical experience is desirable, but not essential.Diploma in Applied Science, or a Bachelor of Science would be an advantage, but not essential.Registration with the Medical Science Council and an Annual Practising Certificate as a Medical Laboratory Pre-Analytical Technician in Patient Services is desirable, but not essential.A valid New Zealand full or restricted driver's license.Eligibility to work in New Zealand.What's in it for youYou will be joining a friendly, high-performing, and forward-thinking team environment.
