This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced physiotherapist wanting to develop their leadership capabilities.
In this role you will carry a clinical caseload, providing comprehensive and evidence-based care to General Medicine patients within the inpatient setting.
In addition to your clinical caseload, you will play an active role in quality improvement within the General Medicine area, provide day to day coordination and leadership within the general medical team.
This role works closely with our other acute medical specialities and you will have the opportunity to learn and work within AED / CDU, Respiratory, Haematology, Respiratory and Cardiothoracics.Main roles and responsibilities : Manage a clinical caseload while providing day-to-day coordination and support to a small team of core and rotational staff.Drive quality improvement and service development within the area of General MedicineWork collaboratively with a range of professional groups in a multidisciplinary environmentProviding clinical and operational leadership within the wider acute Medical Team as requiredBeing prepared to take on delegated responsibilities from the practice supervisor as requiredParticipate in our weekend and on-call rosterAbout the Team / Service / LocationOur team is made up of passionate and supportive Physiotherapists motivated to improve the quality of life and health outcomes of the communities we serve.
Our Acute Medical Team is led by a Practice Supervisor and consists of 14 staff working across AED, General Medicine, Respiratory, Cardiothoracics, Haematology and Oncology.Our wider Physiotherapy team consists of 91.2FTE, working across both inpatient and outpatient settings.For more information on living and working in Auckland click hereAbout youAs the ideal person for this role you will have the following skills and attributes : New Zealand registration as a Physiotherapist with a current Annual Practicing CertificateAt least 6 years clinical experience with significant experience working in General Medicine and the acute hospital settingA flexible and proactive can-do approachExperience in supporting staff and studentsEffective communication and inter-personal skillsEffective time management, prioritisation, and organisation skillsUnderstanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and how to provide culturally safe care in the acute hospital environmentRegardless of your experience, you will receive a thorough orientation and be well-supported in your role.
