Who You Are
Must be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident (government security check mandatory).
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent (or 10+ years of industry experience with 5 years as a .NET Developer / C#).
API development experience (Azure DevOps, SQL, C#).
Strong programming, debugging and problem-solving skills.
Excellent team collaboration and communication.
Willingness to take ownership of complex technical challenges.
What You Will Be Doing
You will work as a .
NET Developer for a leading government organization supporting a legacy system.
The role focuses on building an API layer to replace old legacy software and to interact with the database.
You will write, test, debug code, participate in design and code reviews, mentor junior members, and contribute to adopting new technologies.
Responsibilities
Write, test and debug .
NET code for API development.
Collaborate with team members and conduct design and code reviews.
Act as a subject-matter expert in specific domains and mentor junior team members.
Debug and troubleshoot production issues in partnership with operations and support teams.
Participate in defining software requirements and specifications.
Research, propose and adopt new technologies and best practices.
Qualifications
10+ years of relevant work experience in industry, with a minimum of 5 years as a .
NET Developer / C#.
API development experience (Azure DevOps, SQL).
Advanced degree in a related field is a plus.
Relevant certifications or training is a plus.
Familiarity with software development practices and methodologies.
Strong programming and debugging skills.
Excellent team collaboration and communication.
Willingness to take ownership of complex technical challenges.
