We are currently seeking an experienced and compassionate Rest Home Caregiver to join our team in Henderson, Auckland. We are a 18-bed rest home facility located in Henderson, West Auckland. You will be working with a fantastic team, lovely residents with great support from management, and an emphasis on building strong relationships with the residents and their families, this site is proud of its reputation.

Requirements :
Level 4 qualification in Health and Wellbeing or equivalent, OR;
If you have no qualification, then require at least 3 years experience as a caregiver in a rest home setting.
Effective communication skills with residents, families, and team members.
Compassionate and patient with a desire to care for the elderly.
Ability to work collaboratively with the rest home team.
Knowledge of health and safety practices in a rest home setting.
Willing and able to pass an NZ police check. Must not have any criminal convictions and be able to pass a drug test.

Physically fit and strong.
Strong working knowledge in Health and Safety.
Has Knowledge of administering and managing Apomorphine Pump therapy (a specialized treatment for advanced Parkinson’s)
Has dementia-care experience, crisis management, clinical tasks, and conflict resolution.
Competent in MediMap digital medication management system - ensuring audit-compliant administration of complex medication regimes.
Ability to cooking meals according to the rest home’s menu.
Must hold a First aid certificate and Food Safety Certificate.
Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
The candidate must be flexible, as day / night shifts may also be required, dependent on the service requirements.
Responsibilities
Assist residents with daily activities including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
Ensure residents receive adequate nutrition and hydration by serving meals.
Monitor and document vital signs and report any changes in residents' condition to the nurse on duty.
Administer medication as directed by the nurse on duty.
Support residents' social and recreational activities.
Maintain a clean and safe environment for the residents.
Complying with the relevant policies related to punctuality, correct maintenance of time records, professional appearance and conduct, and all House Rules / Code of Conduct.
As required the caregiver is to do Laundry, perform cleaning and kitchen duties in a helpful manner, and maintain good infection control principles.
All staff are obliged to observe the privacy, dignity, comfort & confidentiality of residents.
To be a good communicator with Residents and staff. Observe and report any changes in the resident’s condition and vital signs. This includes appropriate upward reporting, sharing relevant information with colleagues, and maintaining a good working relationship with management.
Following basic hygiene and infection control principles particularly in relation to hand washing.
Adhere to Health and Safety Policies and report any hazards and incidents and accidents. Cooperate with any investigations.
Term : Permanent full time position
Hours of work : Guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week
