If you’re a seasoned Information Management professional who enjoys variety, autonomy, and meaningful connection across local government, come and join the team at ALGIM.
We may be a small team, but we’re a mighty one, and we’re looking for an experienced Information Management Lead to champion IM across New Zealand’s councils. You’ll be the go-to expert, supporting members with sound advice, practical resources, and insights that help life IM capability across the sector.
You’ll take ownership of ALGIM IM Toolkit – our industry’s trusted resource – ensuring it stays current, relevant, and accessible. You’ll also lead bespoke IM consultancy work, run training and webinars, and represent local government in national and international forums.
It’s a varied, hands-on role where you’ll work alongside passionate people, have plenty of autonomy, and the freedom to shape how IM evolves within local government.
Ideally, you’ll have solid IM leadership experience within local government, a strong understanding of NZ’s information legislation, and a knack for turning complex ideas into practical tools.
The team is based in Palmerston North, but we’re flexible on location. If you’re elsewhere in New Zealand and can travel to the office occasionally, we’d still love to hear from you.
At The Association of Local Government Information Management ( ALGIM for short), we provide professional development and thought leadership across a range of local government professions. We organise a large number of training and events, including an internationally recognised Annual Conference. Our mission is to bring people and technology together to deliver better Local Government services.
