Overview
Are you an experienced Senior Gameplay Programmer looking to take ownership of technical development on an exciting debut game project?
This role offers the chance to help architect and implement core gameplay systems, guide engineering practices, and work closely with design, art, and production teams to bring an ambitious new title to life.
Responsibilities
Leading technical development and owning responsibility for scoping, creating, and supporting core gameplay systems
Collaborating with design and art / animation teams to build, iterate, and refine standalone prototypes into fully functional gameplay features
Refactoring prototypes into scalable, maintainable systems that can be used across the entire game
Designing and implementing systems for character movement, combat, stealth, AI, navigation, and other gameplay mechanics
Anticipating technical challenges and preparing the project for future console porting
Actively contributing to brainstorming sessions and creative discussions
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in game engineering roles, with at least one shipped Unreal Engine title on console
Strong C++ programming skills, with fluency in Blueprints and Unreal-specific systems
Experience with console development and a solid understanding of the requirements for porting to console
Proficiency with version control systems such as Git or Perforce, and familiarity with build automation tools
Demonstrated expertise in optimisation for performance and scalability
