- The Senior Adviser Community Engagement and Reintegration has a focus on proactive engagement with communities and the provision of specialist advice, ongoing education, operational support and monitoring for the placement of child sex offenders and other high-risk offenders in the community.This role is at the forefront of creating positive partnerships and is integral to the interface between Ara Poutama Aotearoa and a vast array of organisations and community groups across Aotearoa therefore, developing and maintaining relationships with accommodation providers and agencies, to ensure appropriate accommodation and support options are available across communities.The role supports the Wellington Region, reporting to the Regional Manager Reintegration.
This position can be located at any of the Service Centres, some travel throughout the region will be required.
Mou | About youRelationship management is a large component of the role therefore, you will be apt at proactively developing strong and credible connections with diverse groups, encompassing NGOs, Government agencies, Iwi, school communities, City Councils, community leaders, and others with vested interest.Your success will be measured by your ability to take this pivotal role and leverage off strong partnerships to facilitate positive outcomes for the Department and its stakeholders.To this end you will be comfortable facilitating and presenting across a variety of forums and be resilient in nature to manage the sensitivities of the topic.Ideally you will present with a good understanding of risk management and knowledge in relation to high risk offenders, along with relevant legislation.
However, this is not essential as transferrable skills are incredibly important combined with an affiliation for the positive essential work Ara Poutama Aotearoa undertakes.
