Overview
A great opportunity to lead a team and expand on your farming career with a large, progressive farming organisation.
The Opportunity
Step into a leadership role at Rotomahana Farm, where you'll contribute to a strategy focused on production and profit while prioritising core farming principles.
As Farm Manager, you’ll apply expert pasture management and feed budgeting to maximise productivity and drive growth.
Lead a high achieving team of around four people, in daily operations, animal welfare, and sustainable practices to take this property to the next level.
Key Responsibilities
This role also gives you an opportunity for hands-on familiarisation with Pāmu systems and processes. You'll gain proficiency in managing your own Farmax file and accurately recording data into FarmIQ.
You’ll have the full support of a Business Manager to help you settle into the role and assist in any areas where it’s needed such as financial reporting, planning, or pasture management. Together you will work to deliver quality results.
We also have a robust health and safety regime at Pāmu, and Rotomahana has well maintained, up to date farm equipment.
The Farm
Close to Reporoa, Rotomahana is a 900 ha (effective) property, with 9000 su, including 2000 breeding ewes and is home to the Pāmu Angus breeding programme which has fully recorded Angus cows and their progeny.
About You
As an experienced leader, you have a genuine passion for agriculture, and you are enthusiastic about further developing your skills and expertise.
You will ideally have experience in managing a farm, including pasture management and feed budgeting or you will have worked in a senior role leading a team and you are looking for that next opportunity to further your career.
You Will Have
Benefits
At Pāmu we offer a competitive salary package with additional benefits, including health and life insurance, up to 4% KiwiSaver matching, an extra day of leave over Christmas, and enhanced parental leave benefits, as well as ongoing training and development.
