Playcentre Aotearoa is a well known and loved early childhood organisation with over 80 years of supporting parents to take the lead in their children’s learning through play. Playcentre operates over 400 Playcentres throughout the country.

Playcentre is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic session facilitator to join our well-resourced and vibrant Playcentre Community. You will work alongside our members and tamariki to guide session activities, facilitate learning using child-led play and positive guidance, support planning and assessment for learning and positively support the Playcentre education programme. You will be a leader who encourages others to thrive; you will model Playcentre philosophy and good practice while supporting whānau to gain confidence to have a go themselves.

Days & hours

Monday 9am to 1pm and Thursday 9am to 12pm at Helensville Playcentre.

Tuesday 9am to 12.30pm and Wednesday & Friday 9am to 1.30pm at Kaukapakapa Playcentre.

This is a permanent position during school term time only.

The ideal candidate

Hold a Playcentre Course 3 qualification or higher, or an early childhood qualification of Level 4 or higher.

Hold a current First Aid Certificate or be willing to achieve this.

• Knowledge and understanding of Te Whāriki and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi
• A passion for Playcentre and our philosophy
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with tamariki and adults
• Passion for empowering and engaging with all whānau to feel a sense of belonging on our sessions
• Knowledge of ECE regulations
• Ability to use technology
