About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Cook to join our compassionate team at Montecillo Veterans Home & Hospital in South Dunedin, Otago. As a Cook in aged care, you will play a vital part in delivering exceptional meals around our person‑centred care ethos to residents.

This is a part time role working Friday, Saturday and Sunday preparing nutritious meals for 44 residents. The hours are 0700‑1530, and there is the ability to take on additional shifts to support staff leave and any in house catering functions.

Key responsibilities

• Strong cooking skills with an emphasis on quality and presentation
• Resident dietary management
• Ability to work cooperatively with kitchen staff to get food out on time
• Service excellence around all aspects of the dining experience
• Ensuring compliance with food hygiene and safety practices
• Strong communication with our dedicated team and residents
• Assisting with bulk cooking operations
• Preparing and presenting texture‑modified foods
