National Facilities Manager

SPCA is one of New Zealand’s most trusted and respected charities, with a proud history of helping animals in need since 1872. Every year, we protect over 30,000 animals through rescue, rehabilitation, sheltering, and advocacy.

To continue this important work, we rely on well-maintained, safe, and functional facilities across the country, and that’s where you come in. Guided by our core values of kindness, courage, and commitment, we’re looking for a National Facilities Manager who will bring these to life through proactive leadership, smart planning, and a genuine passion for making a difference.

About the Role

We’re looking for a National Facilities Manager to oversee the day-to-day property and facilities operations across all SPCA sites nationwide. This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week role, offering the opportunity to make a tangible impact across our organisation every day.

You’ll play a key role in ensuring our centres are well-maintained, compliant and cost-efficient, while contributing to the development of long-term maintenance plans and strategic property projects.

Your days will include :

• Managing and triaging all property maintenance and repair requests across SPCA sites
• Liaising with landlords, suppliers and tradespeople to resolve facilities issues efficiently
• Ensuring all work complies with the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015
• Developing a 10-year maintenance plan for all SPCA-owned sites
• Maintaining a national register of facilities issues, outcomes and reporting trends
• Partnering with the Grants team to align maintenance and capital works with funding opportunities
• Supporting national procurement initiatives and supplier relationships
• Assisting the National Property Manager in developing SPCA’s long-term property strategy
