The race crew works hard to deliver a wide range of quality ski and snowboard events across the season.
The Race Crew comprises
We start the winter with a Race Development program for children, certifying race crew and coaching during July over the school holidays.
The event season runs from late July to the end of September.
Responsibilities include preparing and executing local community events, ski and Snowboard Cross courses, and international races.
The role varies daily and depends on the schedule, weather, and snow conditions, requiring early mornings and some late nights.
Ideal candidates are resourceful problem solvers, eager to be part of a tight-knit team, and willing to work hard.
Flexibility, adaptability to weather changes, and a passion for snow and sport are essential.

About the role
Coaching
12-day race development program focusing on essential skills over terrain and set environments for ages 6 to 12.
Seeking ways to add value to the ski area through fun guest events.
Maintaining and repairing gear.
Creating start areas.
Setting up safety features like B-Net.
Transporting and staging equipment.
Setting racecourses according to F.I.S ICR and NZCR standards.
Managing race day operations, monitoring the course, and ensuring safety.
Post-race course packing, gear storage, and reopening the hill to the public.
About You
Experience with race crew, in New Zealand or internationally.
Good fitness and ability to work irregular hours.
Flexible and available to adapt to roster changes.
Ability to work under pressure and as part of a team.
Commitment to guest experience.
Comfortable working in alpine conditions and knowledgeable about snow conditions.
Understand employment depends on weather and hours cannot be guaranteed.
Skills and Qualifications
At least Level 2 NZSIA or equivalent.
Knowledge of FIS alpine racing standards is advantageous.
Snow sports instructing experience is desirable.
Electrical or software knowledge for timing systems.

All applicants must pass a police vetting.
NZSki will review applications after the holiday season, starting no earlier than January 10th.
