Retail Shop Assistant

We are a very busy Fruit and Veggie Shop located in West Auckland. We are relooking for a Retail Shop Assistant.  It is a Full-time role working a minimum of 30 hours per week.

Essential Requirements :

Ability to work long and flexible rostered hours, including weekends. Split shifts will be required

Level 1 or high School education.

ability to lift heavy crates / weights.

You will be required to perform as follows :

Position Duties :

• ⁠  ⁠Opening & Closing of shop
• ⁠  ⁠Cashing up all tills at the end of shifts
• ⁠  ⁠Serving Customers and advising them on the usage of the products
• ⁠  ⁠Checking all inwards goods
• ⁠  ⁠All inward goods must be processed within 24 hours and passed on to retail staff for merchandising.
• ⁠  ⁠Organize display of products
• ⁠  ⁠Relieving the Store Manager when required
• ⁠  ⁠To assist in organizing stock take, and to be responsible for stock rotation
• ⁠  ⁠Ensuring all returns are processed promptly
• ⁠  ⁠Ensuring all promotion products are in store in time for the promotion to start
• ⁠  ⁠Assist in setting up the promotions, marketing, and advertising material, and store specials
• ⁠  ⁠Implement procedures or systems to evaluate or select suppliers and assist in the ordering of stock
• ⁠  ⁠Assess appropriate material handling equipment needs and staffing levels to load, unload, move, or store materials.
• ⁠  ⁠Assist in General business planning and attending management team meetings
• ⁠  ⁠Identify opportunities to reuse or recycle materials to minimize consumption of new materials, minimize waste
• ⁠  ⁠Maintaining Health & Safety and Food Safety standards at all times

We will provide all the necessary training. We need people who are committed and turn up to work on time unless they have a reasonable excuse.
