Invercargill City Council is looking for a friendly and motivated Customer Services Officer to join our future-focused team based in the Te Hinaki Civic Building on Esk Street.
This full-time position is 40 hours per week, 8 : 00am-5 : 00pm, Monday to Friday.
The role includes front-of-house customer service, cashier transactions, and support through our phone contact centre.
Key responsibilities for this role include : Acting as the first point of contact for customers, providing prompt and accurate advice in person and over the phone.
Supporting customers across a wide range of Council services, including dog registration, rates, environmental health, theatre bookings, wheelie bins and property file requests.
Processing payments and handling cash transactions.
Assisting customers with online services and application forms, while maintaining accurate Council records.
What you will bring : A genuine commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
Experience dealing with the public and managing challenging situations.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise competing demands.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Adaptability to new systems and processes.
Sound computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
NCEA or equivalent passes in English and Mathematics.
