OverviewJoin to apply for the Manager Operational Risk and Compliance role at Westpac New Zealand2 days ago Be among the first 25 applicantsJoin to apply for the Manager Operational Risk and Compliance role at Westpac New ZealandWhat you will doIn this role, you will play a pivotal part in the Line 1 Finance Risk Team, where you'll identify, assess, monitor, and mitigate operational risks within the Finance and Treasury Business Unit.You'll ensure financial operations align with internal policies and external regulations, fostering a culture of integrity, transparency, and accountability.Your proactive approach to risk management and your ability to collaborate across Finance and wider organisational teams will be essential to driving continuous improvement and maintaining a robust and fit-for-purpose control environment.As part of your responsibilities, you'll help embed Westpac's operational risk and compliance frameworks, conduct regular risk assessments, and produce reports for senior leadership.You'll lead investigations into incidents and compliance breaches, support the development of corrective actions, and deliver training to promote a risk-aware culture.Working closely with cross-functional teams, you'll monitor risk profiles, identify improvement opportunities through automation and analytics, and contribute to strategic projects focused on regulatory change and process transformation.Key responsibilitiesEnsure Finance and Treasury comply with legal, regulatory, and internal policy requirementsEscalate and monitor significant risk exposures and incidentsFoster a culture of compliance and responsible behaviourEngage with teams to support integrated risk management strategiesWhat you will bringBachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or Accounting (or equivalent experience).
At least 5 years' experience in operational risk management, compliance, audit, or related finance roles.Relevant experience in Big Four Internal / External Auditing and / or Advisory.Recognised qualifications (CA / ACCA / CIA or equivalent).
