We are seeking a support worker to join our dedicated team, supporting clients impacted by brain injury or long-term conditions.
This role focuses on building life skills, independence, and community engagement in a respectful and empowering way.This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping others and is ready to be a positive role model in a young person's journey toward independence.Key Responsibilities : Support clients in accessing community services and activities.Be a consistent, positive presence and role model.Help create a warm, respectful, and motivating environment.Respond constructively to behavioural challenges and support positive strategies.Engage with community providers (e.g. WINZ, HNZ, CADS, Mental Health).
Work independently in the client's home and community.What We're Looking For : Level 3 or 4 Health & Wellbeing qualification (minimum Level 3 required).
Experience with brain injury, physical disability, mental health, or addiction.Understanding of communication challenges is a plus.Full, clean driver's licence and access to a vehicle.Clean criminal record and willingness to undergo police checks.Strong cultural competency, including understanding of Maori perspectives and tikanga Maori.A caring, patient, and client-centred approach.Why Join Us?
