Mō tēneimahi | About this job
Are you passionate about supporting tamariki to learn, grow, and thrive in a nurturing environment? We’re looking for a dedicated Kaiako to join our whānau at Raroera Te Puawai where learning is grounded in whakapapa, whanaungatanga and aroha. This is a permanent full-time (40 hours per week) position based in Hamilton.
At our Puna Reo, we are more than just an early learning centre – we’re a community. A place where tamariki are encouraged to explore, develop, and feel proud of who they are. As one of our valued Kaiako, you’ll help create a safe, inclusive, and culturally rich space where every child feels seen, heard, and supported.
You’ll lead and support learning aligned with Te Whāriki, weaving in Māori and meaningful experiences that reflect our Kaupapa. You will document tamariki progress, build strong relationships with whānau, and work alongside a passionate team to create positive outcomes for our learners.
This role would suit someone who has a genuine love for working with tamariki, is confident in te reo Māori, thrives in a supportive kaupapa-driven environment where whānau values and cultural connection are at the heart of everything we do.
This role is classified as a Core Worker and requires passing a safety check under the Children’s Act 2014.
As a kaupapa Māori organisation, your willingness to participate in cultural activities and develop an understanding of Āhuatanga Māori (values, culture and tikanga) will be key.
