You'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of mobile accounting at Xero, partnering with cross-functional leaders across design, product, and engineering to drive high-quality outcomes.This is a hands-on leadership role.

You'll lead design for key initiatives, mentor designers across the mobile portfolio, and help us continually raise the bar for quality, usability, and craft.

What you'll doPartner closely with Design, Product, and Development leaders to set the design vision and direction for Xero's native mobile experiencesPartner closely with Design Research and Product colleagues to identify research opportunities, plan and undertake research and testingPromote the value of design and collaborative practice across spheres of influence and participationPresent and communicate design work to a range of different audiencesChallenge current solutions, by exploring ideal future concepts and identifying new interaction solutions and patterns that meet customer needs in a better wayCreate prototypes which tangibly demonstrate a proposed concept or solutionInfluence, challenge and support designers within your product area to deliver high quality product experiencesDevelop phased design solutions that bridge the gap between a future state and current patterns, XUI Mobile design system, iOS, iPadOS, Android and other relevant constraints and considerationsDevelop detailed interactions and interfaces which are smart and contextually relevantCreate effective handover materials which clearly communicate how the design should look and behave throughout interaction flows and journeys (e.g. User flow diagrams, design specifications, experience / interaction specifications etc)What you'll bring with youTrack record of designing native mobile experiences across iOS and Android.Track record of innovating and delivering complex design experiences at scaleAbility to solve customers' problems through design thinking and executionA portfolio that demonstrates high-quality design outcomes, contributing to user experience and business valueA mastery of the entire design process from uncovering customer needs and pain points, to executing elegant interfacesExcellent communication skillsWhy Xero?
