People & Culture Senior Advisor

The Ōtaki to North Levin project focuses on upgrading the transport link along State Highway 1 (SH1) between Ōtaki and North Levin to improve road safety, reduce congestion, enhance travel efficiency, and support regional economic growth.

In partnership with NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi, Muaūpoko Tribal Authority, local hapū of Ngāti Raukawa ki te Tonga, and the Horowhenua District Council, this project will be executed through a two-alliance approach. Each alliance will be responsible for delivering a section of the road and associated works, ensuring a collaborative and comprehensive delivery.

This exciting new four-lane 24.8km highway project will dramatically improve safety and resilience, providing better access to walking and cycling facilities for those moving around or through the Horowhenua and Kāpiti districts. The project includes multiple large complex bridge structures plus a full interchange at Taraua Road, a half interchange north at Taylors Road, two roundabouts and approximately 4m m3 of complex earthworks significant, drainage infrastructure and a structural asphalt concrete pavement.

This role is supporting the North Alliance (delivered by partners Fulton Hogan, HEB Construction, WSP and Aurecon).

About the role :

We're looking for a People & Culture Senior Advisor to partner closely with our P&C Manager in championing a culture of care across the Alliance. This role plays a key part in supporting training and development, wellbeing, and onboarding initiatives.

You'll provide practical advice, coaching, and hands-on support—especially to our front-line leaders and supervisors, who are vital to shaping our workplace culture. From co-creating wellbeing initiatives grounded in Te Whare Tapa Whā, to strengthening our onboarding experience and supporting leadership development, you'll help foster a collaborative, inclusive, and responsive environment where people can thrive from day one.

Day to day you'll :

• Implement training and development initiatives, including leadership programmes, capability building, and maintaining accurate training records.
• Support onboarding and resourcing, working with managers and home organisations to ensure a seamless start for all new team members.
• Champion wellbeing by co-designing and delivering proactive initiatives grounded in Te Whare Tapa Whā , and promoting a culture of care.
• Collaborate across the Alliance to align development pathways, performance processes, and people strategies with home organisation requirements.
