About the Role
The regional Ophthalmology department provides high quality care to patients in the Auckland Region and offers a range of secondary and tertiary services.
Whilst primarily based at Greenlane Clinical Centre, we also provide services at various sites across the Auckland Region.
You will be joining an established senior nursing team who work autonomously and collaboratively with other specialists to meet the needs of the population across the wider region.
In this role you will :
Provide specialist nursing care, coordination of care and improving the quality of professional nursing practice across a variety of ophthalmic clinical areas.Work as part of a supportive senior nursing team committed to effective; evidence-based nursing practice in the outpatient and theatre ophthalmic setting.Perform intravitreal injections within the outpatients settingsDeliver specialty care to patients undergoing eye surgery by providing perioperative care, specifically performing Sub-Tenon blocks.
You will be provided with supervision and training.

About You
We are looking for someone who :
Is a registered nurse with a minimum of 4 years postgraduate experience.Has a well-grounded clinical practice background, which includes working in an ophthalmic setting.
Is working towards or have completed post-graduate qualifications.Has strong leadership and decision-making skills with an ability to work autonomouslyIs willing to travel to support regional service delivery.Has excellent, communication, and problem-solving skillsIs open to learning and developing a specialist skillset.About the Location
