    • About the Role

    • As a Rural Hospital Medicine Specialist, you will work across both the Emergency Department and the Inpatient Ward, applying your broad generalist knowledge in a rural setting to serve the Taupo community.
    • This community in the South Waikato has a population of approximately 42,000.
    • You will be an essential part of delivering quality, integrated care in this unique and rewarding environment.

    • If you have a background working in smaller, less-resourced rural hospitals, you'll appreciate the scope of practice and autonomy this role offers.

      About You

    • You are a highly adaptable and experienced Rural Hospital Medicine Specialist who thrives in a rural environment and is comfortable applying a broad generalist knowledge to diagnose and treat patients independently.
    • You are within 3 months of obtaining your Rural Hospital Medicine qualification and / or already hold this qualification.
    • You are eligible for Specialist Locum Tenens and / or Specialist Vocational Registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.Working at Health New Zealand
