About the Role :
ghd hair are seeking a passionate and driven Area Manager to oversee a portfolio of retail locations across Auckland, Wellington, Dunedin and Bay of Plenty . You will lead a high-performing team and deliver exceptional customer experiences.
You will be responsible for driving sales, managing operations, and ensuring consistent brand standards across your region.
This is a full-time leadership role that requires regular travel across your designated area.
As a ghd Area Manager, you will :
- Lead, coach, and inspire a high-performing retail team of Counter Managers, providing ongoing feedback, guidance, and support to help them reach both individual and team sales targets while delivering exceptional customer service.
- Drive commercial performance across your region , overseeing multiple channels including department stores, specialty retailers, and self-select doors, ensuring each location delivers against business goals.
- Monitor, analyse, and report on sales results and KPIs regularly, identifying trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement, and developing actionable strategies to maximise revenue and profitability.
- Recruit, onboard, and train retail staff to maintain a skilled, confident, and motivated team, while nurturing a strong pipeline of future talent.
- Champion learning and development , ensuring team members are equipped with brand knowledge, product expertise, and selling techniques to create memorable customer experiences.
- Ensure operational excellence , including compliance with company policies, visual merchandising guidelines, to maintain a consistent and premium brand image.
- Plan and execute promotional campaigns, in-store activations, and product launches , partnering with head office marketing and training teams to bring brand moments to life at retail.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key retail partners, store leadership, and stakeholders , fostering collaboration to maximise brand visibility, secure prime retail space, and strengthen long-term partnerships.
- Act as the key link between retail and head office, sharing insights from the field to inform business decisions, identify growth opportunities, and represent the voice of both customers and staff.
- Champion the brand culture and values , leading by example, and creating a positive, inclusive, and motivating environment where team members feel empowered to succeed.
About You :
We’re looking for a motivated and commercially minded leader with a genuine passion for People.
Proven experience in a multi-site retail leadership role (beauty, Hair, luxury, cosmetics, or premium retail preferred).A strong track record in driving sales, managing budgets, and achieving targets.Excellent leadership skills with the ability to coach, mentor, and inspire teams.Exceptional customer service and communication skills.Strong business acumen, with skills in reporting, data analysis, and stock management.A flexible and proactive approach, with the ability to travel regularly across your region.What We Offer :
