Policy Analyst (Start ASAP)

Join the Ministry for Primary Industries as a Policy Analyst to develop impactful policy advice supporting New Zealand's primary sectors.

Your Role

Key responsibilities include :

• Developing policy advice and contributing to legislation and regulation for primary sectors including aquaculture, fisheries, and forestry.
• Writing briefings, responses to Parliamentary questions, and Official Information Act requests.
• Collaborating across MPI and with other government agencies on diverse policy issues.
• Building strong relationships with stakeholders to shape practical and effective policy.
• Working within teams focused on Aquaculture Policy, Fisheries Policy, or Forestry Sector Policy based in Wellington.
