  • About the Role
  • The Data Analyst is responsible for analysing and making health data, information, and analytics accessible across Health New Zealand. This includes supporting the Hauora Māori Service with strategic data insights through performance and impact reporting.Key responsibilities include identifying emerging issues and trends, and providing actionable insights to inform decisions around funding, resource allocation, and service delivery. Engaging with external stakeholders including Iwi partners and government agencies will also play an important part in this role.
  • About you
  • You will hold a tertiary qualification in a relevant field, supported by strong technical expertise and proficiency in programming languages such as R, SQL, Python, or similar. Experience with data visualisation tools like Power BI is essential, along with the ability to translate data into meaningful insights and evidence.Success in this role also relies on excellent communication and relationship-building skills, as well as a sound understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles and their practical application within healthcare settings. This cultural competency will help ensure data-driven decisions are equitable, inclusive, and responsive to the needs of Māori communities.
