Job descriptionStudents currently studying or recently completed study at university, wānanga, or polytechnic Interest in contributing to innovations where Mātauranga Māori and science intersect Experience or interest in Te Ao Māori, or working with Māori organisations, iwi, or hapū For general internship : interest in business and commercial studies, kaupapa Māori research, social policy, communications and marketing, law, environmental / resource management, or social sciences (psychology, sociology) For science internship : interest and basic lab experience in biology, chemistry, physics, food science, horticulture, agriculture, statistics, mechanical / electrical engineering Paid internship Supportive learning environment Professional development workshops Tuakana, mentorship support, and networking opportunities
Gain hands-on experience in horticulture, seafood, plants, and food innovation through a paid summer internship supporting Māori tertiary students at Plant & Food Research.
Your Role
Here’s what you will be doing :
- Work on meaningful projects aligned to your studies in horticulture, seafood, plants, and food innovation
- Contribute to future-focused research supporting Aotearoa, New Zealand
- Engage with teams across multiple locations including Auckland, Ruakura, Pukekohe, Lincoln, Motueka, and Nelson
- Build skills and networks within a supportive learning environment
