The Commission was established by the Climate Change Response (Zero Carbon) Amendment Act
The Commission plays a key role in developing and implementing clear and stable climate change policies in Aotearoa New Zealand.
We do this by providing independent, expert advice to the Government of Aotearoa New Zealand on both mitigating and adapting to the effects of climate change.
We also monitor and review the Government's progress towards its emissions reduction and adaptation goals.

Nga Tunga | The Role :
The Analytics and Economics team develops evidence and advice on cross-sector impacts and policies to help people make good decisions about reducing emissions and adapting to the effects of climate change.
This team includes the Commission's NZ Emissions Trading Scheme (NZ ETS) experts, economists, and modellers.
We are looking for someone with NZ ETS policy experience and strong quantitative analysis skills who can work collaboratively in a matrix structure to advance the Commission's work programme.
This includes contributing to current statutory deliverables and setting up the analytical foundations for future advice.
Over time, this role is expected to contribute to the Commission's advice and monitoring work, including :
