Mō te tūranga | About the role

We are seeking a confident, self-managing Pou Ārahi / EA / Secretariat for our Rūnanga. This is not an entry-level position, it\'s a leadership-aligned role for someone who thrives on independence, precision and relationship-based mahi.

You\'ll serve as the primary secretariat for the Wairewa Rūnanga Executive Committee, Te Kete o Wairewa (our commercial arm), and the Whānau Rūnanga hui . Your responsibilities include :

  • Preparing agendas, papers and minutes for key governance meetings
  • Coordinating schedules, communications and logistics for the Manahautū and Chairs
  • Maintaining operational and administrative systems across our teams
  • Supporting financial management, payroll, policy development and reporting
  • Upholding our tikanga, reo and organisational values

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Qualifications

  • Has experience as a senior administrator , executive assistant , or governance coordinator
  • Is confident managing competing priorities and working with minimal supervision
  • Has excellent relationship skills, able to engage naturally with whānau, iwi, funders and community partners
  • Understands, or is committed to learning, te reo Māori me ōna tikanga
  • Is proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), Xero
  • Open to flexible hours
  • Experience in iwi, Māori or kaupapa-based organisations is desirable.
