Part Time Kitchen Steward.
The ambassador should have an eye for detail, a passion for creating magnificent luxury experiences for our guests and a spirit of team development.
Purpose
You are the start and finish of an amazing culinary experience.
Job Description
Responsible for the cleaning duties within the kitchen or food preparation area, including the cleaning of cooking and general utensils used in a restaurant and / or a kitchen.
Maintain a high level of workplace hygiene and safety in the kitchen and related areas.
Assist with the assembly and preparation of ingredients for cooking as required.
Cleaning, sanitation and storage of all cutlery, crockery, kitchen equipment and appliances, using either industrial washing machines or hand washing as appropriate.
Cleaning of walls, floors and general kitchen work spaces, working to cleaning schedule as prescribed for the area.
Cleaning of food storage areas including fridges, cool rooms and dry goods stores, ensuring that principles of food hygiene are being observed; report any hazards or problems to Executive Chef.
Remove rubbish regularly, ensure that kitchen and waste areas are free of refuse.
Clean industrial bins on a daily basis.
General maintenance and cleaning of the loading dock.
Explaining and enforcing hygiene regulations.
All other Kitchen responsibilities.
Qualifications
Minimum 6 months experience in a similar role, preferred.
Physically fit and able to stand for the duration of a shift (8 hours).
Good level of fitness and ability to lift kitchen equipment over 10kg.
Organises time and work efficiently.
Excellent communication skills - verbal and written.
Willingness to work weekends and public holidays if need be.
Initiates contacts and establishes rapport easily.
Has the aptitude and willingness to undertake further development with Sofitel.
