This role has the flexibility to be based in Hamilton or Rotorua.
Tau e mahi ai | What you'll be doing :
Lead Engineering Disciplines
: Provide strategic and technical leadership across mechanical, high voltage, generator, condition monitoring, and pressure equipment domains.
Drive Reliability & Performance
: Develop and implement systems to monitor asset health, trend performance, and lead initiatives that improve reliability, extend asset life, and optimise maintenance costs.
Coordinate Engineering Resources
: Deploy cross-functional engineering teams to troubleshoot complex issues and deliver system-level improvements.
Govern Standards & Best Practice
: Maintain engineering standards and lead communities of practice to ensure consistent, high-quality asset management across Mercury.
Support Change & Innovation
: Play a key role in our Management of Change process, ensuring engineering integrity and risk management align with regulatory and industry expectations.
A degree in engineering (or equivalent experience with 15+ years in the field).
Proven leadership in technical and asset management teams (10+ years).
Deep operational knowledge and hands-on experience in generation or heavy industry.
Strong technical acumen in turbines, high voltage systems, transformers, and pressure equipment.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including with senior leadership.
Professional membership (e.g. ENZ) and / or postgraduate qualifications (preferred).
