RNZ aims to strengthen Aotearoa and the Pacific through informative, challenging and entertaining content.RNZ is looking for casual producers to pick up occasional shifts helping to make our programmes sing.Te Mahi – About the jobYou'll slot in from time to time producing on shows across RNZ National like Afternoons, Nine to Noon, Sunday Morning, Nights and more.

Taking direction from an executive producer - and using your own initiative - you'll be generating story ideas, developing them, and getting them to air.We value producers who stay on top of the news, book and deliver great talent and know how to have a bit of fun with the audience and their colleagues.

You also need to understand and value audiences on different platforms : live radio, web and social media.Casual producers don't have guaranteed shifts and the work is on an as and when needed basis.These roles are office-based and often in a studio environment.Journalism degree or diploma – or equivalent (which may be achieved through relevant experience)Good knowledge of regional, national, and international current affairsKnowledge of music and the arts communityDigital recording and editing skillsExcellent organisational and interpersonal skillsNga Hua : What we offerAt RNZ, you'll be joining a passionate team who love what they do and are committed to making a difference.
