About your team / Ko te tīma
Our Regulatory Assurance team provides expert advice on regulatory best practice, including through managing WorkSafe's Practice Framework, the source of truth for how we deliver our regulatory services.
The team also supports the effective implementation of operational policy and regulatory changes and provides internal assurance activities to support continuous improvement of core regulatory activities
About the role / Ō te tūranga
We are looking for our next Manager Regulatory Assurance to lead a high-performing team that delivers expert advice on regulatory best practice and ensures the effective implementation of WorkSafe Mahi Haumaru's regulatory functions. This role is pivotal in ensuring changes to operational policy and legislation are reflected in frontline delivery, supporting the continuous improvement of good practice in regulatory service delivery, and overseeing quality assurance systems that enhance the delivery of regulatory services across the Operations group.
A key focus of the role is to develop and maintain a clear, strategic work programme aligned with organisational and operational priorities, ensuring resources are directed toward activities with the greatest impact. The team also supports continuous improvement by providing robust systems and frameworks for internal assurance, strengthening both the first and second lines of defence in regulatory delivery.
What You'll Do / Ko tōu ake mahi
You'll be supporting a team that works to ensure expert regulatory practice advice is embedded across WorkSafe Mahi Haumaru's core frontline services. In this role, you'll oversee the development and maintenance of our practice framework, the translation of operational policy into practical guidance for frontline teams, and the implementation of regulatory changes into practice.
You'll also be responsible for the maintenance of compliance controls, ensuring WorkSafe complies with its obligations as a regulator, as well as quality assurance processes to ensure regulatory delivery is consistent and effective. You'll take a system view to ensure effective feedback loops are embedded to support uplift in capability and delivery across operational teams. You will work collaboratively across the organisation and with other regulators to share best practice, contribute to risk management, and support capability building to strengthen regulatory delivery.

Salary range / Awhe utu
As part of our remuneration framework the full salary range for the position is from $151,211 to $199,351 and our expected starting base salary for the right person is from $151,211 to $167,382. Note : KiwiSaver / SSRSS employer contribution is additional to / on top of your base salary.
