Area Sales Manager

Overview

SMC Corporation Australia | New Zealand is seeking to appoint a result driven, technically competent sales professional to join our sales team in the role of Area Sales Manager to service growth in the Napier & Hastings region. Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, the role is responsible for maintaining existing direct & distribution customer relationships whilst developing new business opportunities with potential customers across various industry sectors including food and beverage, packaging, dairy, manufacturing and general engineering.

About You :

Ideally, our successful applicant will possess the following skillset and demonstrated previous experience :

• Tertiary qualifications in engineering highly regarded or relevant experience & technical aptitude / skills in either Mechanical, Electrical or Instrumentation
• 3-5 years minimum technical sales experience essential with proven experience in managing a designated sales territory with significant budget accountability and proven consistent track record
• Solid organisational and planning skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Sound problem solver and reasoning skills with solution selling capability
• Possess exceptional rapport building and relationship building skills
• CRM software package experience and administrative discipline
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience using MS Office suite of programs
• Possess a safety mindset to successfully operate within and promote a safe working environment
• Hold a current New Zealand driver’s licence
