OverviewTranspower holds a unique position in the New Zealand energy sector as both National Grid owner and System Operator.
Our core purpose is to empower the energy future for New Zealand - a future that delivers a net-zero carbon economy and a reliable and secure electricity system.
At the heart of the energy sector for over a hundred years, the grid has moved power from where it's made to where it's needed.
We'll keep doing that - maintaining and operating the national network and prioritising a reliable, safe supply of electricity - but our context has changed, and we're changing with it.
What we do matters more than ever, because our work is vital to New Zealand's economic growth and future prosperity.
The transition to electrification is underway, and at Transpower we're ensuring the grid can support it and meet Kiwis' needs into the future.
We're also working at pace with our customers to deliver new grid connections that bring more renewable energy into the network, powering homes and businesses everywhere.
At the same time, we're managing the system - coordinating supply and demand for electricity 24 / 7 in real-time - so that whenever you plug something in, the power is there to keep your world running. The opportunityA part time role with impact!
