Manager Asset Planning
This is a pivotal new role where you'll lead a high-performing business unit of technical experts responsible for the strategic activity planning, lifecycle management of Council's assets and services.

As part of our Strategy & Planning Directorate, you'll help shape the long-term sustainability and resilience of our city.
Working at the intersection of strategy, infrastructure, and community outcomes—you'll ensure our assets deliver value now and for generations to come.
What you'll be doing
Leading the development and continuous improvement of Council's strategic asset management, ensuring integrated planning across all asset classes and services.
Overseeing the preparation and integration of Activity Management Plans (AMPs) aligned with the Long Term Plan, infrastructure strategy, financial strategy, council priorities, and community outcomes.
Driving evidence-based investment decisions through robust lifecycle analysis and risk-based planning.
Overseeing the development and maintenance of asset-related policy frameworks and contribution to cross-Council policy initiatives.
Advocating for infrastructure funding and collaborative opportunities with regional and central government.
Empowering a team of leaders and specialists to work cohesively across Council, breaking down silos and driving integration.
Ensure the provision of high quality, timely strategic and policy advice to Council, Committee's and executive leadership, through technical subject matter experts.
Ensure Council is well represented in public forums, stakeholder meetings, and regional and national partnerships.

You're a strategic thinker with a strong understanding of asset and activity management principles, infrastructure planning, and lifecycle management.
You bring :
A relevant degree in civil engineering, planning, or a related discipline.
Extensive leadership experience across technical and planning disciplines.
Ability to see the "big picture" and understand external drivers that impact asset management
Deep knowledge of local government frameworks and funding mechanisms.
A collaborative, people-centred leadership style that builds trust and drives performance.
A commitment to cultural competency and community engagement.
