OverviewTe Kura Tuarua o Taraika ki Pukeahu | Wellington High School is a co-educational school of 1,600 students, situated on Pukeahu.

Rangatahi Maori make up 11% of our roll and we seek an innovative and strategic thinker to navigate our kura on the journey of 'what is good for Maori, is good for all'.

The Kaiwhakapuapua role is an integral part of the Senior Leadership Team and is supported by the kaimahi Maori of Te Ropu Whakahaumaru.Ko taku piki amokura noku, ko tou piki amokura nou.He Kaiwhakapuapua will bring strategic leadership skills to uphold Te Tiriti principles and continue to build matauranga Maori within our kura in order to raise our waka to different areas, uplifting akonga and working collaboratively with staff to support mana orite in curriculum delivery.You will be confident holding space in kaupapa Maori settings, modelling positive Maori ways of leading and thinking, understanding and upholding the school's values and guiding principles.

Recent leadership experience in a New Zealand school, as well as fluency in te reo Maori is preferred but not essential.Strong relationship management and communication skills are essential as you continue to promote a culture of achievement, engagement, and wellbeing, supporting whanau Maori, tauira Maori, kaiako Maori, te iwi Maori towards tino rangatiratanga within our school setting.If you are passionate about creating a culture where all akonga are connected to their identity and can thrive as Maori, our kura awaits you.
