The Mentor role plays a very important part in the life of our tamaiti or rangatahi.
The Mentor will work one to one, supporting our tamaiti or rangatahi to meet their goals while demonstrating a lot of care, empathy and professionalism.
This role will require someone who is able to be flexible and responsive, supporting the needs of a 15-year-old female.The successful applicant will have the following : QualificationsIdeally have a Certificate in Health and Wellbeing or relevant qualificationHave experience providing physical, emotional and therapeutic care of vulnerable children / young people with disabilitiesHave experience working with rangatahi in a community settingBe excellent at quickly establishing confidence, rapport and routine with the child and their familyHave their own transport and a full clean driver's licenceBe First Aid certifiedBe able to work evenings and weekends, sleepoversAn in-depth understanding of how the role recognises the special relationship between Maori and Tauiwi and strong empathy with the organisation's special characterApply now for this role or get more information by contacting Open Home Foundation.
