About the Role
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced, enthusiastic and self-motivated medical laboratory scientist to lead and manage our laboratory based at Thames Hospital.
As this is a small-medium sized multi-discipline laboratory, the ability to participate in routine technical work is also required.

About the Team / Service
Thames is one of five Te Whatu Ora Waikato Laboratories.
The laboratory is based at Thames Hospital, and provides a service to both the hospital and the wider community.
The team is made up of 13 friendly, multi-skilled scientists, technicians and phlebotomists who work closely together in a supportive environment.
Testing primarily covers Biochemistry, Haematology, Transfusion Science, and a limited scope of Microbiology.
The laboratory also oversees a range of Point of Care testing across the hospitals clinical areas.
As part of the Waikato Laboratory management team, you will be well supported by, and work collaboratively with other rural laboratory Charge Scientists and the central management team based at Waikato Hospital.
You will also have daily interaction with clinical and operational staff at Thames Hospital to support service delivery.
