Job Overview
MBIE is seeking a Trade Remedy Analyst to support investigations into alleged dumping and subsidisation of imported products. The analyst will collaborate with ministers, senior managers, industry representatives, and international trade authorities to develop evidence‑based recommendations that shape NZ policy and uphold NZ’s WTO obligations. The position is based in Wellington CBD and is a permanent, full‑time opportunity.
About the Team
The Trade Remedies team administers New Zealand’s trade remedies system, ensuring that import competition is fair to New Zealand industries. The team leads policy development for trade remedies legislation, conducts investigations into alleged dumping and subsidisation of imported products, and works on international regulatory cooperation, tariff and supply chains policy, and compliance with international agreements.
About the Role
The analyst will contribute to a variety of trade remedies investigations. The role offers exposure to significant work at the intersection of trade, law, and economics.
