In this role you'll play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of the Central City Transformation Programme.
You'll work closely with the Central City Transformation Manager to ensure visibility, coordination, and alignment across a wide range of projects, portfolios, operational activities and external developments.
Responsibilities
Provide visibility across existing portfolios & programmes and operations e.g. physical works (parks, transport, waters), safety, planning and developments) to present a consolidated and strategic view of activities across the Central City.
Lead the development and ongoing refinement of the central city transformation programme schedule.
Contribute to the design and improvement of systems and processes that support programme delivery.
Monitor and track progress against the schedule, identifying dependencies, potential delays, risks or issues.
Resolve problems using precedent, interpretation and experience often within tight timeframes.
Facilitate coordination meetings to align teams on schedules, risks, and dependencies.
Influence outcomes across stakeholders and business areas to gain cooperation.
Develop, prepare and support key central city transformation programme reports including tracking IAF housing outcomes, benefits and programme reporting information for governance meetings and strategic decision-making.
Communicate and share knowledge of central city projects activities to support communications, engagement and stakeholder engagement planning.
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to achieve mutual understanding and alignment
Track and monitor central city transformation plan outcomes.
Champion the central city Development Response Plan outcomes and integration of principles into projects to mitigate risk and enhance community outcomes.
Support the Central City Transformation Manager with information required for long-term planning and annual planning processes.
Support the Central City Transformation Manager to facilitate workshops
This role requires a multi-faceted approach to planning and coordination across diverse portfolios and operational areas.
You'll be an expert in project and programme planning, known for your ability to gather complex information and distil it into clear, actionable insights.
You'll be confident engaging with a wide range of stakeholders and comfortable presenting and making recommendations at all levels of the organisation.
This is a fixed term opportunity to 30 June 2027.
The formal title of this role is Central City Planning and Alignment Lead.
Qualifications

A significant amount of experience in project / programme planning and coordination.
Graduate degree in relevant field, such as Management.
Applied understanding of project and programme management principles and frameworks.
Ability to present complex information in a simple way to support effective communication.
Facilitation and listening skills - ability to interpret information from meetings and conversations into deliverable actions.
Ability to influence, negotiate and gain cooperation across teams and stakeholders.
Analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to interpret complex information.
Programme or Project Management qualifications such PRINCE2 or Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) accreditation (preferred)
Experience working in local government (preferred)
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
High accuracy and attention to detail.
Excellent technology skills including Microsoft office, Excel, PowerPoints, and Word and demonstrated ability to pick up new software quickly.

Starting salary is $90,059 which is negotiable dependent on skills and experience.
