Ranger – Department of Conservation (DOC)

About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Ranger to join our Operations team in maintaining high standards of care for walking tracks and other facilities in our Auckland reserves.
As a Ranger, you'll work in a team of two, and at times with our wider operations team on other conservation tasks.
The role will focus on maintaining popular visitor sites such as Goat Island Bay, maintaining water and wastewater systems, keeping walking tracks safe and up to standard, and protecting historic places according to heritage requirements.
This is a permanent, full-time role based out of Warkworth.
Responsibilities
Keep popular visitor sites such as Goat Island Bay looking their best for visitors.
Maintain water and wastewater systems.
Keep walking tracks safe and up to standard.
Look after historic places according to heritage site requirements.
Skills and Experience
Physically fit and able to walk long distances carrying tools and equipment.
Range of practical skills.
Experience and / or qualifications with motorised tools.
High standards of care for outdoor facilities.
Able to work with others in a small team.
Flexibility to deal with changing priorities and work plans.
Commitment to health and safety and willingness to contribute to a safety-first work environment and positive safety culture.
Full New Zealand driver's licence.

The salary range for this position is $60,703 to $66,911, with the starting salary based on relevant skills and experience.
