About the Role

We’re looking for an Accounts Officer to join our finance team on a part‑time basis (pro‑ratio salary), 20 hours per week, ideally spread across 5 days but we are flexible.

The Accounts Officer plays an important part in the day‑to‑day accounting and administrative functions that help the businesses operate efficiently and support our property owners, tenants, investors, and the wider business.

You’ll be part of a fast‑paced, agile environment where automation and efficiency are key. This role will support the Commercial Finance Manager across accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and general financial admin - helping ensure our systems and processes keep pace with our growth. You’ll also have the expertise and support of the wider Classic Group Finance Team.

Main Responsibilities

  • Accounts Payable : The full remit from setting up new creditors, entering creditor invoices, reconciling supplier statements, ensuring approvals follow the delegation of authority through to Payments.
  • Accounts Receivable – Providing support on the commercial property rental management including raising invoices and receipt of payments as well as general invoicing or recharges and monitoring aged balances for customers.
  • General Support – Assist the Commercial Finance Manager with other duties including reconciliations, reporting, and other finance‑related tasks.

About You

Your key attributes will be your communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships across the team and our stakeholders. You will be competent in working autonomously to manage your own workload ensuring acute deadlines are met and have experience in navigating and utilising finance software systems and the Microsoft Office suite.

To be suitable for this position you ideally bring 3+ years of Accounts Officer experience in a similar finance role. You will have an can‑do attitude and be willing to help out in this small team wherever is necessary.

You will also possess some of the below skills / experience :

  • Ability to process large volume of work in a timely and precise manner
  • Demonstrated skill in accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Experience using Released, Xero and Zahara (Invoice Management systems)
  • Proven experience and an ability to work quickly, accurately, and efficiently are essential
  • Strong reconciliation skills, and a good level of competency in Microsoft excel
  • Comfortable working both independently and as a team player!
