The Academic Staff Member - Mechanical Engineering - is based in our Rotokauri Campus, reporting to the Team Manager and will be responsible for : Curriculum Assistance :
Collaborate with faculty to align tutoring sessions with course objectives.Develop supplementary materials such as practice problems and study guides.Review and reinforce lecture materials to enhance student comprehension.Student Engagement :
Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment.Identify and address individual student learning needs and challenges.Provide constructive feedback to help students improve their academic performance.Administrative Duties :
Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions and student progress.Participate in meetings with faculty and academic support teams.Stay updated on industry advancements and changes in mechanical engineering education.He korero mou| About you To be successful in this role you will have :
A relevant trade qualification or higher in General Mechanical Engineering, with expertise in areas such as fabrication, machining, fitting, and welding.A commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment, ensuring all students are supported in their educational journey.Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and applications.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to explain complex concepts in a clear, accessible manner.Organisational skills to manage tutoring sessions and track student progress.Patience and adaptability to accommodate different learning styles.Problem-solving ability and attention to detail.Commitment to promoting academic excellence and student success.Preferred :
Prior experience in tutoring, teaching, or mentoring.Familiarity with engineering software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, MATLAB).Working Conditions :
