Awatapu College is seeking a dedicated and professional Student Support Officer who is dependable, detail-oriented, and enjoys helping others and working together to achieve great results.
You\'ll bring a professional approach, strong time management, and a knack for solving problems logically and calmly — even when things get busy.
The role involves working 37.5 hours per week during term time, with regular hours from 8 : 00 am to 4 : 00 pm with a 30 minute lunch break.
You may be required to work one extra week at the end of Term 4 and again at the start of term one following Wellington Anniversary weekend.
Occasionally, there might be some evening work for events like Open Night or Interview Evenings.
You may also need to work extra hours or days during the school holidays to keep things running smoothly; however, extra hours would be paid accordingly.
Key Tasks
Managing student attendance and accurately recording, maintaining, and updating data using Google Docs, Excel, Kamar Portal and other digital systems
Monitor and manage the sick bay by providing first aid care and maintaining a clean, well-organised sick bay environment
Manage the uniform cupboard by organising stock, tracking inventory and distributing items as needed
Plan, organise and prioritise daily workloads to ensure all objectives and deadlines are achieved efficiently
Communicate effectively with team members, staff, caregivers and students to share information and resolve issues
Provide support in operational or administrative tasks, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail
Responsibilities
Adhering to school policies and professional behaviour expectations
Ensuring tasks are completed accurately and courteously, reflecting well on the College
Upholding confidentiality and ethical practices in all dealings
Supporting a positive, respectful team environment and taking initiative to improve service
Presenting a clean and professional image at all times
As you will be the dedicated sick bay officer, having a valid First Aid Certificate would be beneficial, though not essential, as the successful candidate will be provided with the necessary training.
You will ideally hold a full clean licence as you may be required from time to time to visit caregivers\' homes to support with transport requirements.
Due to this role being within the education sector, passing a Police Vetting Application is also required.
