About the role :
Based in our Christchurch branch in Wigram, a full-time position is now available for a Calibration & Service Technician to join our team.
The role mainly involves calibration & certification of new and existing Electronic and Optical equipment for levelling, surveying, inspection, portable gas detection, and measuring, along with component-level fault finding, testing, troubleshooting, and occasional circuitry repair.
Accurate Instruments focuses on a high level of accuracy in repair and operates within the ISO9001 Quality Management System.
Ideal Person :
We are looking for someone committed for the long-term with calibration, optical, electronics, and PCB level understanding, experience, and repair, with work experience within New Zealand and / or Australia.
If you have professional work experience involving personal and SLR cameras, this would be beneficial to the role.Someone efficient, dedicated, conscientious, punctual, reliable, and helpful, who can self-manage, is a team player, and wants to work in a company that has a great culture.
A high level of detail and accuracy in your work is expected, where documentation is key.
Clear, concise communication with our customers, in an English-speaking environment, is critical.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Regular daily Calibration & Certification of new and existing equipment
Bump testing and sensor replacement of Gas Detectors
Entering and completing service reports on the equipment
Testing and QA of instruments
Resolve warranty issues with managers and customers
Provide Technical support for customers
Relevant NZ recognised tertiary accreditation (diploma, certificate, or degree)
At least 1-2 years of technical and / or professional experience, preferably within NZ, Australia, or the United Kingdom, in repair, servicing, and calibration of equipment
Experience with repairs on optical and camera equipment, including calibration and alignment
Competent in Soldering
Professional experience in the repair of electronic circuits and the assessment of PCB / component level repair would be beneficial
Fluent and clear / concise spoken and written English language communication skills
Technical Knowledge in CCTV camera systems, specifically Pipe Inspection and / or Construction Laser Levels for building and civil industries, would be a strong advantage
Good understanding of Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, and Excel
High organisation and time management skills
Ability to work independently but also as part of a team
